Poland’s first McDonald’s restaurant opened in Warsaw exactly 17 years ago today. Under the watchful eye of security guards, crowds hungry for a taste of western-style fast food placed 13,304 orders on the first day, a world record, the Metro daily reported Tuesday.
A Big Mac burger served at the restaurant, on the corner of Marszalkowska and Swietokrzyska streets, cost zl.25,000 in the currency of the time.
